For everyone with DNA results elsewhere

Three ways to bring your work to Kinprove.

Import the DNA files you already have. Capture matches as you browse. And, if you like, ask Claude Desktop the questions you can't quite frame.

Import

Bring your existing data.

  • Raw DNA files from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, and FamilyTreeDNA — upload the file you downloaded from your testing service.
  • Segment exports from MyHeritage and FamilyTreeDNA — the only two services with chromosome browsers, so the only two that publish segment data to import.
  • GEDCOM family trees up to 50 MB, the format every major platform exports.

Chrome extension

Capture matches as you browse.

  • Install once from the Chrome Web Store. The extension reads segment data straight from MyHeritage and FamilyTreeDNA chromosome browser pages — no CSV export, no copy-paste.
  • Captures shared cM, predicted relationship, chromosome positions, and X-chromosome segments from FTDNA's Detailed Segment Data tab.
  • Rides on your existing DNA-site session, so you never share a MyHeritage or FamilyTreeDNA password with Kinprove.
— And, yes

Ask Claude Desktop about your tree.

  • One API key, every MCP-compatible client — Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, or your own scripts. No password sharing, no platform lock-in.
  • Ask the assistant about every part of your research — DNA kits, segments, triangulations, X-DNA analyses, hypothesis scores, evidence gaps, anomalies: "Generate hypotheses for Sarah's biological father.""Find the strongest DNA match I haven't reviewed.""Verify whether scenario 3 still outranks scenario 7 after the new kit."
  • Let it edit the tree on your behalf — add individuals, attach parents, record families. You stay in control: it only sees what you've uploaded, and every change is yours to accept or revert.
